Companies in the cemetery and funeral industry across five continents come together to celebrate life on the same day each year.

This initiative of ALPAR — Latin American Association of Cemeteries and Funeral Services — invites the entire cemetery and funeral industry to join in celebrating life through in-person, virtual, and hybrid activities.

Our history

In 2012 ALPAR held the first edition of “Latin America united by life”, achieving significant acceptance from companies internationally. By 2013 we expanded coverage and held “The world united by life”. In 2014, 33 companies from 10 countries brought together millions of people through various activities, and in the 2015 edition, in all four corners of the planet, 32,000 people joined through different and emotional activities. A global movement that is constantly growing, adding more participating companies each year.

Nearly 150 companies

28 countries, 95 cities, and over 2 million people across five continents came together to recognize the dedicated work of funeral professionals and pay tribute to all those who passed away in 2020 without the farewell ritual they deserved.

2021

More than 160 companies

The tenth edition of this global movement saw a 35% growth in participation levels. In 31 countries and 74 cities, nearly 3 million people across five continents participated in various in-person, virtual, and hybrid tributes to celebrate life.

2022

Celebrating life

Numerous in-person, virtual, and hybrid activities brought together millions of people from five continents in the eleventh edition of World United for Life. 24% of the registered companies participated for the first time in this global movement that unites the cemetery and funeral industry to celebrate life.

2023

45.5% growth

With the participation of 211 companies in 132 cities across 31 countries, the 2023 edition of World United for Life recorded a growth of 45.5%.

2024

New countries

Finland and Romania joined the participating countries, totaling 42 countries where life has been celebrated since 2012. A global movement that is constantly growing, uniting groups of families and friends to celebrate life through multiple in-person, virtual, and hybrid activities.

2025

Global movement

Tributes that unite the world across five continents to celebrate life and memory. 24% of participants joined for the first time, and Ireland was added among the countries celebrating life.
